FAQ Design Questionnaire Select a Contractor The Installers Are Coming

The installation date is near... what do you do to get ready? We've put together these helpful tips to ensure your kitchen remodel experience is as smooth as possible.

  1. Remove and pack everything from your kitchen cabinets and drawers. Pictures, clocks and kitchen curtains need to be taken down also. It's best to put them in another room to avoid getting dusty or damaged. Don't forget to check walls adjacent to your kitchen and remove any items that could get damaged from vibrations during the construction process

  2. If space permits and depending on the extent of your remodel, consider setting up a temporary kitchen in another room. If your microwave is not built-in, set it up on a card table and include microwave-safe dishes and utensils. Stock your mini kitchen with food basics that don't require much preparation. If you're a coffee drinker make sure you include your coffee maker and supplies. Now is not the time you want to be hunting through boxes to find your coffee pot! Don't forget, cleaning supplies, trash bags, plenty of paper towels and disposable plates, cups and eating utensils. Being prepared ahead of time will make the ordeal much less stressful.

  3. Depending on the extent of your remodel, you may be without water in the kitchen for a short period of time, so have a contingency plan if you need to wash dishes in another sink. If you opt to use paper plates and plastic silverware during this time you can avoid having to wash any dishes.

  4. There will be some meals you may not want to tackle cooking. Be creative, make this a fun and memorable experience for you and your family. The only option is not eating out in a restaurant, or take-out. Plan ahead with a friend to have you over for dinner and reciprocate having them over when your new dream kitchen is completed. Or, plan a fun family evening, order your favorite pizza, pop popcorn, and watch videos.

  5. To help alleviate spreading dust, or fumes throughout your house, turn off the central air or heat when the installers are sanding or using strong chemicals

  6. Put our telephone number near your phone. In the event that questions or concerns arise, our friendly, courteous, customer service representatives are here to answer them, or offer reassurances.
